“ It was a rainy Friday night, I'm hungry. I just got out of work; just got paid. It's on like Donkey Kong! I ordered 4 pickup through Yelp w/ the Grubhub application here in the Bronx. And I was on my way to pick up at the restaurant in New Rochelle. I ordered the lamb curry taco, which were 3 flat soft corn tortillas. And I ordered the honey garlic wings. I think there were 8 wings and legs mixed together. I arrived in New Rochelle, picked them up, approximately 25 minutes later ( bag was waiting on the counter) and I was so incredibly hungry I ate them in the car parked behind the New Rochelle Farms market off North Ave. The wings were good- solid- but something was missing. I'd give it a 7 out of 10 for flavor. Then I ate the Lamb Curry Tortilla. OMG OMG OMG They were SPECTACULAR!! The two cut limes ‍ were such a perfect topping to these savory morsels of lamb flavored and seasoned to perfection!!!! Also, they were genius about leaving one plain flat tortilla underneath the 3 tortillas becaaaaaaause... all the extra that fell out of the tortilla I was eating, you guessed it... fell into that last empty tortilla underneath the 3 i had just finished eating. SO, it was like having 4 lamb tortillas. Love this place even though it's pricey. Buon appetito!!! ”

“ The food from Coromandel is consistently some of the most flavorful I have ever had from any restaurant. I have had the good fortune to eat at many fine restaurants and unsung hole in the walls all over the United States. I believe that Coromandel is on par with any 1 star Michelin restaurant I have eaten at when it comes to the quality of the food and the consistency. Coromandel is not just some of the best Indian food in the Tri-state area it is some of the best food, consistently, in the Tri-state area. ”

But, tonight we decided to try some of their new specials - the pizza and the new appetizers. The pizza was truly life-changing. I was so excited, we haven't even gotten to the entrées because I ate so much of the pizza. Truly new flavors. The onion. Bhaji was lovely-light and tasty and I wanted more and more. Plus they deliver to 4 local towns! Wow, that's all I have to say! ”

“ I was sad to learn that they've moved locations, becoming a take-out only restaurant. My family and I have loved coming here for years. I even had my last baby shower at the restaurant. Whrn we moved back to the Bronx, we ordered some dinner for pick up and found out at that time that they had moved. The staff was still very pleasant and the food was as good as I remembered. Recently, we ordered delivery and it was great. The food arrived quickly and was still very warm. Unfortunately, I had just had dental work performed, a deep cleaning, and was not in the mood to chew but also didn't want to have any curry because my mouth was still very sore. Nimma Rasam - a hot and spicy soup that is never tried before. I was very pleased with my choice. It's a very spicy soup but soooo flavourful! I wasn't sure what to expect but I definitely want to order it again. Tandoori Shrimp - I got this for my kiddo because she likes shrimp but it did not appeal to her. She preferred her daddy's food. However, it was a win for me because i had some the following day for leftovers, after my mouth felt better. Tandoori Chicken - hubby's go-to. Few chicken pieces are moist and it's a mild dish that he loves to order. Our Little shared some pieces with him. Lamb Saag - this is one of my son's favorite dishes. It's very flavourful. I had a taste of just the curry and spinach. Garlic Naan - our family's choice every time but unfortunately, I was unable to try any. Chili Naan - VERY spicy naan! I tried to take a bite but couldn't commit because of the chew. I was able to have some the next day and it was great. Hot Pickle - my son and I are very into their hot pickle condiment. It's spicy and flavourful. I was able to eat a little bit because most of it is soft. Gulab Jamun - we love these sweet honey balls. They were a nice end. They have new items on their menu, including Bollywood Wings, Bollywood Tacos and Bollywood Pizza. We got their garlic honey wings and although I was unable to have any the first night, when my mouth felt better, I had a couple and they were great! I want to try their vindaloo style wings next time. Obviously we didn't go that route this itme around because not everyone can handle that kind of heat. Pulao rice came with the entrées was enough for everyone to share and they even gave us a small container of murgh makhani on the side and I appreciated that immensely! Coromandel still offers catering. You can order trays and lunch boxes for corporate or personal events. The prices are a bit steep but you get a lot. “ Coromandel has definitely become one of our go-to Indian places. The menu is large, and the flavors are great. My biggest beef is the price, though. The prices are so high that Coromandel has really become our splurge Indian food spot, specifically. I liked their saag paneer, which is on the drier side but allows for some great flavors. It's over $20, though, gah. You'll have leftovers, though, so that's a plus. ”

“ Have now been to most of their locations. Consistent high quality food and good service with a casual atmosphere and a terrific wine list. NR location is s large space split by a bar as you enter. There was a large group partying so we sat in the other side in a very casual setting. Service was unobtrusive and somewhat spotty with our drink not arriving and the food arriving with an ingredient that I have an allergy- it was quickly corrected. The samosas were very tasty and filling. The marsala topping was very salty but OK. Would not have used it - not needed. The cauliflower was ok. Battered and fried in red sweet sauce. Not what I would have liked and the menu was not descriptive. Tastyish but not per menu. Entrees were excellent. The okra, Aubergine and lamb were very large portions but extremely tasty and fresh. The spice level was medium and the blend of herbs was masterful. I highly recommend this place. ”
